2012 Feinstein Challenge

A man stands next to a table of produce with a sign that says "Food For Free."

We’re delighted to announce that Food For Free is once again participating in the annual Feinstein Challenge.

The Feinstein Foundation is a Cranston, Rhode Island-based foundation created by philanthropist Alan Shawn Feinstein. More information on Mr. Feinstein is available here.

The Feinstein Challenge, now in its 15th year, is a national fundraising challenge to fight hunger. The Feinstein Foundation offers $1 million to be divided proportionately (according to funds raised) among all of the participating agencies. Donations made in response to the Challenge to participating agencies—including Food For Free—between March 1 and April 30 qualify for additional funds from the Feinstein Foundation.

According to the Feinstein Foundation’s press release about the Challenge “Feinstein’s past annual spring $1 million challenges to fight hunger have raised over $1.25 Billion for over 2000 agencies and houses of worship nationwide helping the needy.”

Food For Free is proud to be part of the Feinstein Foundation’s campaign to end hunger.
